3 SISTERS AWARDS

In a nutshell: Within 4 months - from December 2017 to April 2018 - Managing Editor Chila Woychik discovered she not only had a sister, Christine, given up for adoption in Germany at a day old, never met and, sadly, now deceased, but she also has a living sister by another mother and a father she has never met. Chila established the Christine Prose Poetry Award in 2018 and has now added the Dory Ann Fiction Award for 2021. She has also changed the name of the Eastern Iowa Review Lyric Essay/CNF/Experimental Award to the Maggie Nonfiction Award, reflecting Chila's middle name / nickname.

We hope to award one contributor in each of the three genres a small prize each January for material published in Eastern Iowa Review the previous year. Visit each pulldown for current and past award winners.
