Even in our "dark fiction" category, skin-crawly as your work may be, don't make it hopeless!

OPEN TO SUBMISSIONS AGAIN TBA
One online flash fiction story will be chosen in one or more of these genres when we're open to submissions (on a rolling basis, next one TBA):
  • Contemporary Mystery
  • Contemporary Spy
  • Contemporary Woods / Western / Mountains / Appalachian 
  • Dark Fiction -- but no straight-up horror, please. Examples might include works such as Fahrenheit 451, The Road, Dracula, 1984, Animal Farm, The Handmaid's Tale, and such
  • Debut Author (two or fewer previous publishing credits, age 18 and over), any genre
  • Fan Fiction (please read this webpage before submitting, and this one on video game fan fiction. Be sure your story is complimentary to the original.)
  • Myth & Legend
  • Literary Fiction
  • Speculative Fiction (science fiction, fantasy, slipstream, etc.; for myths & legends, please use Myth & Legend category)
  • Young Author (submit in this category if you're 17 or younger), any genre

Please only submit one submission in one genre until you hear back from us in that genre, though you can submit material to several genres at the same time. Simultaneous submissions are fine. No reading fee.

Up to 500 words per story. BLIND SUBMISSIONS ONLY (remove all identifying information from your submission, including from the file name).

Accepted authors must acknowledge publishing agreement. Some or all work may be included in a future anthology with no remuneration to author.

Unpublished work only. No reprints.

No payment at this time.

Please submit material suitable for a wide audience.

​We reserve the right to edit an author's bio to conform it to our audience focus.
