/* Dick looks at Jane with a look that is long and pleasant. He catches how gray has begun to show in her hair, and the way her eyes have been drawn by age. Dick sees the ways in which Jane is no longer young--and also sees other ways maturity has made Jane in different ways more attractive and desirable to him. He loves Jane in many of the same ways he loved her as a child, when they were simply playmates on a familiar playground. Dick looks at Jane and now sees this child as a woman in several new ways his time spent on the playground did not reveal. Dick looks at Jane. Dick still smiles. */
/* Time has been different, more of a surprise. Things have happened, things both wonderful and things of sadness. And for long, even periods, time has been uneventful or boring or helpful in a neutral way, which, in retrospect, makes time seem beneficial. Time now and time then is not the same time. Time has changed us. Time has illumined us. Time makes us slowly darken, it now seems. But how could it be otherwise? */
